Federal Energy Management Improvement Act of 1988

A bill to amend the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978 to protect consumers who use natural gas as fuel for agricultural irrigation pumps from certain price increases.

A bill to require the Secretary of Energy, when transporting certain radioactive materials, to use packages that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has certified for that purpose.

A bill granting the consent of Congress to the Southern States Energy Compact, and for related purposes.

Alternative Motor Fuels Act of 1987

A bill to clarify the exemptive authority of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

A bill to provide for the reduction of carbon monoxide emissions from gasoline powered motor vehicles through the use of oxygenated fuels in the District of Columbia.

Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act of 1987

A bill to require the Secretary of Energy to carry out activities relating to nuclear waste repositories and the monitored retrievable storage facility in accordance with the mission plan as modified by the proposed amendment to the mission plan dated January 1987, and for other purposes.

Nuclear Safety and Security Improvements Act of 1987

A bill to enable States located on a river or acquifer affected by the siting of a repository for high-level radioactive waste or spent nuclear fuel to participate effectively in the site selection, review, and approval process for such repository, and for other purposes.

A bill to amend the Federal Power Act to provide for the provision of wheeling services to political subdivisions of States which operate facilities generating hydroelectric energy.

Pipeline Safety Reauthorization Act of 1988

A bill to amend the Motor Vehicle Information and Cost Savings Act of 1975 pertaining to fuel economy standards for automobiles and light trucks.

A bill to amend the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, to improve the nuclear power plant siting and licensing process, and for other purposes.

A bill to amend the Clean Air Act to require that all gasoline sold by refineries in the United States contain a certain percentage of ethanol or certain percentages of both ethanol and methanol; to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend for 8 years certain tax benefits for fuels containing alcohol; and to provide that revenues to the Highway Trust Fund shall not be reduced by reason of such tax benefits.
